the sound storm lab website had very little specs on the amp. so you're probably right. my alpine amp is also only stable at 4-ohms when bridged...

i was reading through http://www.bcae1.com and i havent finshed, but i had a question about watt rating on speakers if my speakers say 700 Watts, 4 ohm does that mean it can handle 700 watts of power with 4 ohms resistance?

Depends... On if your talking RMS or MAX, two very different beasts.
RMS is an applied power rating that is due to thermal reasons.
MAX is applied as a "theoretical" number. MAX power is rarely ever seen and when it is it is so quick...
The specs on the subwoofer probably are 700 WRMS and the sub is a 4 Ohm driver.

Typically on cheaper speaker companies, they post the max rating all over their subs (and amps if they make those) just to get people to buy it. Then they realize that the speaker can only handle like 100 watts RMS when they advertise say 600 or 700 watts.

4 ohms is the nominal impedance of the speaker. that is a fixed value.
700 watts is a measure of how much heat the voice coil of the speaker can handle without thermal damage. this isn't an indication of how much power the speaker actually needs though. usually you can use less than the RMS power handling value of the speaker and still get peak output.
