help in picking out new amps

bridging is used for driving one speaker with two amplifier channels.
it doesn't produce any "more" power than stereo mode, it just produces teh full power at a higher ohm load (4 instead of 2 ohms) while having a higher minimum load as a result.

in short, if you have a 4 channel amp, you can bridge each PAIR of channels to make it a 2 channel amp to run ONE set of 4 ohm components at the full power of the amplifier.
If you have a 2 channel amp, the only ways to use it bridged would be:
1- witha single subwoofer (4 ohms) or
2- with two identical amplifiers, bridged, one per side (left and right channel)

i got the amp yesterday and my new speakers, install this weekend pics too, i bought the crunch amp thank`s guys for your help

ya i read that alittle to difficult for me lol but on a side note it sounds great!!! even the subs pound different weird but i think iam goin to buy the crunch mono amp

The "ear method" works as well. Just listen carefully for any distortion or bad sounds and back your gain down just slightly. For the sub, turn off the low pass filter (the thing that stops higher frequencies from playing out of your sub), set the gain and you'll be ok.

Although I do use this method myself much of the time for highs, I do not recommend this method for bass... especially for the novice... as many times it is harder for people to catch minor distortion in bass tones and they still may have the gains set to high... I'm not saying that it's not capable of being done by ear, just that I do not recommend as I have seen far to many that have been set to high causing problems using this method.
For as cheap as a dmm is and a calculator... you can't go wrong
